Facilities

Port of Los Angeles High School is located in the heart of San Pedro's port district, just off the new Harbor Boulevard Parkway. Overlooked by the distinctive Vincent Thomas Bridge, the POLAHS facility was created to integrate seamlessly into this developing district.

The school is part of a large 3.85 acre complex, which also includes the proposed California Maritime Studies Center, additional Port of Los Angeles Administration offices, and the headquarters for the new Port Police and Homeland Security divisions.

POLAHS' two-story structure encompasses nearly 70,000 square feet. The building will ultimately house 36 classrooms/labs including four large multimedia classrooms, a multipurpose room with kitchen, four large physical education spaces, a library/multimedia center, individualized learning labs, offices, and four teacher work/conference rooms.

The school's proximity to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach provides for unique student learning opportunities, which bring the port into the classroom.
