At POLAHS, all students are given an equal chance of success. Individualized attention and specialized programs allow POLAHS to meet the needs of a broad range of learners. POLAHS provides students with access to a rigorous, standards-based curriculum. POLAHS students take all of the courses required for high school graduation, and are encouraged to meet the University of California "a-g" subject area criteria for college acceptance.
As a college preparatory school, POLAHS offers over twenty Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses, including Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, Environmental Science and World History. In addition, students may enroll in three-unit UC/CSU transferable courses like International Business on the POLAHS campus. This opportunity is made available through a partnership with Los Angeles Harbor College.
POLAHS' curriculum is demanding, but it's well-rounded and fun too. POLAHS offers electives like Drama, Art, and Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways in Digital Media, Construction Technology, and Boat Operations.
