| The Port of Los Angeles High School is a California charter school. Admission is open to any student in California. As a public school, we do not charge students tuition and do not discriminate based on ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, religious, or political beliefs.
Students will be admitted based upon the openings per grade level at each enrollment session. POLAHS is no longer accepting applications for students enrolling in 9th,10th or 11th grade for the 2010-2011 school year.
A lottery may be conducted if the number of completed applications exceeds the openings available. Applicants not accepted at the time of the lottery will be placed on a wait list according to their assigned lottery number and admitted pending openings. Subsequent applicants will be wait listed on a first come, first serve basis.
Preference is extended to students who reside in the Los Angeles Unified School District, especially those attending schools designated as underperforming as per the charter school legislation. Preference will also be given to students of founding members, siblings, Air Force personnel, directors of the school and staff members. |
