Academic Counseling

POLAHS has three full-time academic counselors who focus on helping students achieve success. Our dedicated and experienced counselors provide a broad range of services for all students, including:

  • Academic counseling
  • Teacher, student, and family collaboration
  • Academic recovery planning
  • Individual meetings for all incoming freshmen
  • Individual meetings for all students annually
  • Private appointments upon request (break, lunch, or after school)

Counseling and Mental Health Resources
 

POLAHS has one full-time Social Emotional Counselor who is responsible for student programs and services that promote well-being such as:

  • Counseling that is need-based, proactive, flexible, and solution-based
  • Services to students that include individual counseling, group counseling and crisis intervention
  • Referrals to outside community agencies and resources
  • Students to and supervise on-campus counseling opportunities by outside agencies
  • Intervention meetings with administration, teachers and parents
