Port of Los Angeles High School (POLAHS) is committed to celebrating outstanding student achievement. On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, the POLAHS student body, faculty, staff and board of trustees gathered at the Warner Grand Theatre to celebrate the school's 1st annual Academic Recognition Ceremony.
Approximately 1/3 of POLAHS' 600 students received awards in the categories of merit, attendance and service. 36 students received the Principal List of 4.0 Grade Point Average, 56 students received Honor Roll for 3.5 Grade Point Average, 91 students received the Dean's List of 3.0 Grade Point Average, 41 students received Educational Department Awards and 67 students were honored for Perfect Attendance.
The number of students awarded highlights a successful fall semester and is an exciting precursor to the spring semester and senior graduation in June of 2009.
