POLAHS HOSTS COLLEGE INFORMATION SESSION
San Pedro
As college admission season sets sail, Port of Los Angeles High School (POLAHS) is eager to prepare students with testing, university campus visits, presentations, and application submission.
On Thursday, October 22nd, POLAHS will hold an afternoon college information session for 11th and 12th grade students with California Maritime Academy Assistant Director of Admissions, Sandy Handel. Students will be given the opportunity to learn more about the prestigious Academy's programs, and Academy admission expectations.
The California Maritime Academy is a unique campus of the California State University (CSU), located in Vallejo, CA. Cal Maritime students receive a education consisting of a mixture of classroom instruction, hands-on experience, international travel, and professional development. In fall of 2009, two POLAHS graduates began their freshmen year at the Cal Maritime Academy, continuing the studies in International Business and Maritime Studies they began at POLAHS.
