1. SAT Fee Waivers are here! We also have some ACT fee waivers available, and more are on the way. See counselors for details.

2. This year College Board and ACT services are asking that we follow fee waiver procedures therefore we must send home an Income Information Sheet to see which seniors qualify for fee waivers. We will be sending the forms to your homeroom teachers.

3.  Seniors applying to UCs, keep revising your UC Essays!  Remember that if you want your teachers/counselors/parents/and other adults to help you proof read it, please have your essays done early and ask at least a couple of weeks before they are to be submitted.

For more tips and info about the essays, see The Personal Statement.

Testing

The ACT Plus Writing includes the four multiple-choice tests and a writing test. These tests are offered several times a year at locations across the country, usually at high schools and colleges.

Go to www.act.org for detailed information about the tests, including information about preparing to take the tests, what to take with you on test day, and understanding your scores. Register for the test at www.actstudent.org
The SAT Reasoning Test (formerly SAT I) is a three-hour test that measures a student's ability rather than knowledge. It contains three sections: writing, critical reading, and math. Most of the questions are multiple-choice.

The SAT Subject Tests (formerly SAT II) measure knowledge in specific subjects within five general categories: English, mathematics, history, science, and languages. The specific subjects range from English literature to biology to Modern Hebrew. SAT Subject Tests are primarily multiple-choice, and each lasts one hour.

Both the SAT Reasoning and SAT Subject Tests are offered several times a year at locations across the country. For detailed information about these tests, including information about preparing to take the test, what to take with you on test day, and understanding your scores, visit http://www.collegeboard.org.
