Partners in Education |
"Education is the one factor that can supersede all others and level the playing field. Education opens the door to a hopeful, prosperous future and the American dream."
— Lt. Governor John Garamendi
"Too often there is a disconnect between what students are learning in school and how they will apply it in the real world. But at the Port of Los Angeles High School, students are learning the very skills that they need to build a successful career in the international trade industry. POLAHS focuses on maritime education in an innovative way, stressing business training, technology, transportation, labor, commerce and world languages in an environment that provides a solid foundation for both traditional education as well as a host of vocational opportunities. The students are being given unprecedented opportunities, as well as the tools they need to seize them."
— Councilwoman Janice Hahn |

| In support of its innovative school program, Port of Los Angeles High School has formed many community-based educational partnerships. These collaborative partnerships include local businesses, government officials, community leaders, parents, homeowner groups, union leaders, and the Los Angeles Unified School District. The strong working relationships forged with these supporters provide POLAHS students with opportunities for educational experiences that expand their academic growth and prepare them for a world beyond the four walls of our school. We wish to thank these partners for helping to make a difference and supporting the education of tomorrow's leaders. Atelier Development Co.
