Nadia Ramirez

POPS Trustee
Nadia Ramirez will be serving on the Board of Trustees representing POPS.
She has 6 children; 2 gained through marriage, 2 of her own, and 2 that the courts decided to give her.  She has been a POLAHS parent for 14 years and a POPS board member for 8 years.  She works at the Los Angeles/Long Beach port as a casual dockworker which allows her to dedicate more time to the community as a volunteer. She is an active member at her church, Mary Star of the Sea in San Pedro.  She volunteers as much as she can; She enjoys attending bible study on Thursday nights and nine o’clock mass on Sundays. She helps with the bible vocation camp during the summer, which is a great experience for young children. Along with giving her time at POLAHS, she is also a volunteer at Mary Star of the Sea elementary as a B team volleyball coach as well as an assistant cheer coach. She also teaches art to grow on classes 4 times a year and helps where needed. She feels that being involved in her children’s school is a great part of their success.
Nadia attended a private school from elementary to high school, St. Malachy’s for elementary school 1st to 8th grade and St. Matthias for high school. She believes that a small school environment is the best way to go, that’s why POLAHS is the best fit for her children.
Getting married shortly after high school, Nadia had a longer journey to receive a college degree, but after many years she did receive an AA from LBCC in Art.  Recently, she applied to Phoenix University where she will be continuing her education.  The goal is to receive a bachelor’s in Psychology and eventually masters. Nadia enjoys working with people that have the same interest as she does, as well as learning anything that would make life easier and more productive.  Nadia believes that once we stop learning we stop living.  She likes to surround herself with positive people and people she can learn from.  She looks forward to another great year on the Board!
