How to Get Help for My Child

Teens are not immune to the effects of stressors in their environment. Just like adults, they can struggle to cope with various challenges, whether within the family, school, or community. These stressors can range from major life events like divorce or the loss of a loved one to ongoing issues like bullying and other social issues.

When teens experience these stressors, they may exhibit mood or behavior changes as a way of responding to the emotional strain. Without adequate coping skills and support, these emotions can manifest in ways that impact their performance at school and their interactions at home. Parents and educators must recognize these signs and provide them with the necessary support and resources to help them navigate through difficult times. Teaching teens healthy coping mechanisms can equip them with the tools they need to manage stress and build resilience in the face of adversity.
