Thank you for your interest in POLAHS! We understand that selecting a high school is a thoughtful decision. We are excited to help you discover our school community. You will find all the information you need here, including how to apply as an incoming freshman or transfer student; important dates and deadlines; and lottery and wait-list procedures.

Important Dates and Deadlines 2020-2021
  • Prospective Student Open House: Sat., December 7, 2019 at 10:00 am - 12 noon
  • Incoming Freshman Lottery Form Available: December 2, 2019 
  • Incoming Freshman Lottery Form Submission Deadline: January 31, 2020 at 3:30 pm
  • Incoming Freshmen Lottery: February 7, 2020 at 3:30 pm
  • Acceptance Letters: Mid February 2020

Prospective 9th Grade Students - HOW TO APPLY

All prospective 9th grade students must complete a Lottery Form during the application period (December 2nd - January 31st) to be eligible for admission. Lottery forms will be available on the website, and on campus. No other information will be requested until students are officially accepted. Prospective students will receive their lottery number at the time the Lottery Form is submitted.

A lottery may be conducted if the number of completed Lottery Forms received exceeds the number of openings available. Applicants not accepted at the time of the lottery will be placed on a wait-list according to their assigned placement in the lottery and admitted pending openings. 
2020-2021 Freshman Lottery

Lottery applications will not be available until Dec. 2nd 2019 and will not be accepted after Jan. 31st 2020 at 3:30 pm. The enrollment lottery for fall 2020 admission will be held on February 7, 2020 at 3:30 pm in the POLAHS MPR. After the lottery has taken place, your application/lottery number will be posted here along with the wait-list students. Please note that all applicants have the same chance of acceptance whether they are first or last to submit applications. All applications received after the deadline will be added to the end of the wait-list, after the lottery has taken place.
Transfer Students

POLAHS admits transfer students based on availability each year through a lottery system. Students interested in transferring to POLAHS must complete a Lottery Form in order to enter the transfer student lottery for their specific grade level. The purpose of the transfer lottery is to make up the order of the wait-list, which we will then use to fill spots once available. For more information, contact the Admissions office at 310-832-9201 Ext. 213.
Transfer Lottery Application

Transfer application forms for the 2019 - 2020 transfer lottery/wait-list are available both on campus, and here on our website. Feel free to print one, fill it out, and drop it off in the admissions office. Applicants can also fill out the application on campus. A receipt will be given upon submission. 
Transfer Lottery Results
Please click on the link below to see the transfer lottery results. To find a students placement, first, find the grade level you applied for. Then, look for the students lottery number typed in red. The black number adjacent to the students lottery number, is their wait list placement for their grade level. Once there is space available, we will start to call from the top of the wait list to fill spaces as necessary per grade level. There is not a definite time table for acceptance, however, the wait list does not expire until the end of the 2019-2020 school year. For questions, please call 310-832-9201 ext 213.
