First established in 1978, LA BioMed’s Summer Fellowship Program received over 175 applications from high school students for the 2014 program.
The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amount of their time to serve their communities and their country, was granted by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of President Barack Obama.
POLAHS received a $100,000 grant for a new science laboratory.
Thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Harbor Community Benefit Foundation, POLAHS’ college preparatory Environmental Engineering course will be expanded for the spring 2014 semester! Students will participate in solutions to the social, economic, and environmental impacts of Port operations.
