Alumni Raven Johnson, '14

Alumnus Update: 

Last spring, Raven Johnson (POLAHS ‘14) graduated from  @dartmouthcollege in Hanover, NH!👩🏾‍🎓

She says she decided to go to Dartmouth, “Because the alumni network is the closest thing to a family you could get. Before I decided where to go for college, four different alums had taken me under their wing, and I never looked back.” Raven changed her major twice, starting out as Pre-Med and Engineering, then Computer Science and Engineering. She  found her calling in Mathematics, a subject she loved in high school. 

Throughout college, Raven worked three different jobs, joined numerous clubs and a sorority, and studied abroad in Ireland. 🇮🇪 “I never would have been able to do those things without #POLAHS. I wouldn’t have discovered my love for math without the wonderful teachers I had there. I wouldn’t have had the confidence to go across the country, or across the Atlantic Ocean, without the responsibilities I was given in high school. And lastly, I wouldn’t have been able to enroll at #Dartmouth without the kindness and generosity of the POLAHS Scholarship Fund donors 💸💸who supported me in attending an Ivy League college,” Raven shared. 

This fall, Raven will pursue a Master’s degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics. She plans on fulfilling her passion as a Mathematics Professor. 🔜👩🏾‍🏫💯
